| Like a lot of people my age, I grew up playing Nintendo games. I have a moderate amount of skill and enjoy being competitive when it comes to difficult accomplishments and high scores.
In the early part of 2026, I've been specifically focusing on Game Boy games. In 2025, I spent a lot of time with NES games.
I have a fairly predictable workflow:
- Pick a game at RetroAchievements to spend time with
- Work to Master that game by beating it and also working through whatever challenges are required (damageless boss fights, collecting items, you name it)
- If the game has a scoring component, I'll tackle a full playthrough one more time to submit a high score, using whatever skills and strategies I learned along the way. I stream these attempts to my Twitch channel
- I usually make note of what a 1st place score should be on both RetroAchievements AND LvlupScore, and generally aim to beat it (or completely obliterate it, if I'm able)., If I manage to get a great score, I post it to YouTube and submit it here!
- I'm all about quality, not quantity. Go big or go home! |
