The controller is the best thing about it for the games that make use of it. Moving it in cylindrical coordinates feels really immersive. You can experience the feel of the controller if not the full experience with a Zircon Video Command joystick for the Atari 2600, which is simply a Channel F II joystick wired up for Atari joystick inputs.
It makes me sad that formal invention in controllers these days has pretty much dried up, though every time I have to use the LiveArea in a Vita game I am a little relieved innovation is dead.
