Proof of me being on switch B the entire play is in the size of the Ark, which is always on screen. The Ark "giant UFO" is shorter on the left and right sides, this is the benefit to switch B as it gives you more time to think for oncoming asteroids.

π thx
Yea for 2600 games it's the best joystick I have. " I usually use a Genesis dpad but this game is better with a stick"
My original 2600 joystick doesn't always register so it would mess me up. And the 2600 Wico is too tight and tires me out.
The 7800 Pro-Line here has a great joystick, very light to the touch and easy to use, but the controller in itself does cause hand cramps, I felt it a bit afterwards.
It only needs the buttons for the abduction part, all the shooting is done with the stick. So for this game it's not so bad.
My fav joystick is actually the 5200 Wico, it's even lighter to the touch and super responsive, but it's not compatible with 2600.
But surprisingly this 7800 controller isn't bad this time :)

For VCS 2600 games I always use my Genesis dpad controller, even for Pac-Man, but after playing Cosmic Ark a while I realized the quick directional shooting in this game is actually much better with a joystick. So the 7800 ProLine got some use tonite :)
What also got some use was my VCS, it hasn't been played a while since my 7800 plays VCS games, but these original release IMAGIC carts really don't fit in 7800. I tried once with Demon Attack to know better. So it was nice pulling out my original Atari. Been in my family since 1979 "before I was born" I'm fairly sure it will outlast all of us! ;)

Cosmic Ark - protect the mothership ark from incoming asteroids, your lasers take up precious fuel, and without fuel you are nothing!
Fly down to earth where you will steal animals from the farmlands and convert them into fuel.
But beware, farmers these days have high tech systems to protect their animals and crops from UFO's just like yours. These anti UFO systems consist of high power lazer canons not unlike your own.. each system has a timing mechanism that only the smartest aliens are beginning to understand. Learn its pattern or be zapped.
The initial land you venture is owned by a poor farmer who can't afford this security system. There you will learn the skill of abduction. But beware. Giant rock meteors are bound to hit a slacker. Your pod is equipped with an alarm that lets you know of this oncoming danger to the cosmic ark. Drive your saucer back with or without the animals. A slow death is more honorable than a fast one!
This... is Cosmic Ark.
