Speed Ball is an attractive puzzle game for the Oric Atmos 48K. Released in 2022, although it was completed in 2020. It is written by homebrew programmers Rax and Iss, known collectively as RaxIss.
The aim is to collect all the dots and other scoring items and escape each level. You cannot stop unless you hit something, a bit like Sokoban's boxes. Spikes and bats can kill you, so watch out. Keys are used to unlock doors. The invisibility skull gives you immunity to the bats and spikes. It is also quite possible to get into a situation you cannot escape from and then you have to sacrifice one of your 3 lives. Lots of good puzzling fun to have here and very attractive level design.
This game was played using the Oricutron emulator on PC. The date of play was the 24th July 2022 and the final score was 1,586 points.
