With extra lives and powerups, I wouldn’t have died on the third boss, though. Here is a playthrough with the third boss at 16:11: https://youtu.be/Exr-dO4eVmE
The player doesn’t have as many points as me before defeating this boss only because they didn’t die frequently and play through levels again. (They also didn’t get as many extra life item drops as I did, maybe because they were playing well.)

A video for this game would be better because there are passwords that can be entered to give extra lives and power ups, and it is not possible to tell from a photo if these had been used or not.
