Extra info:

My early NFSIII plays have this same steering issue. The wheels and steering wheel go full turn completely skipping the animation. It was just less noticeable since it's a car and not a leaning motorcycle. But the N64 controller corrected it so my latest NFSIII plays are smooth turning.

I had bought the controller side by side with ManxTT, knew it was one of those games, but no luck with compatiblity. At least I can use it on NFSIII.

I've beaten Thunder Force's Saturn times on TT Course. But on Laxey Coast I found I may need to use keyboard mode for smoother turning. I lose too much speed with the fast turning dpad.

Workin on it!

But for TT course the tight precision turning makes it easier imo. I felt at an advantage. But I could use competition and anyone else could try to beat me the same. Just use any dpad controller set to joystick mode and you'll get the fast turning as well.

I do know what you mean about earlier racing games though.. I'm playing Test Drive 6 atm and it's incredibly sloppy lol but I still love the crap out of it.

But Manx I imagen does really well with analog, like it does in the arcade.

I'm thinking it's because this PC version is not designed for dpad.
It wants an old PC analog joystick.
Sadly the N64 controller I bought only moves left with this game making it un-playable.. so I'm stuck with either the keyboard or a dpad.

In order for a controller to work It has to be in analog Joystick mode, and it results in %100 input from the dpad, making every turn so hard it skips the leaning animation completely.

This makes it insanely touchy but can be gotten use to.

I can also put it into keyboard mode, and in that case it has a slow lean like in the Sega Saturn version. I put some time in trying to get use to playing with a keyboard, and I still come back to the keyboard as it completely changes the gameplay. But atm my times are better using the quick turning dpad.

The Sega Saturn version can have quick turning as well if the player has the 3D analog controller, but maybe not this quick.

It's kind of ridiculous I'm submitting these but it's honestly really fun.

Hopefully my keyboard skill overpasses my dpad skill, then I'll be able to post some better looking plays.. that or if I decide to find the compatible analog joystick, that would be the best way to play.

If I had this for Saturn, the 3D pad would be a must. Sega Lord X talks about how much better it makes it.

Turning looks a bit sloppy but that was usually the case with earlier racing games.
