πŸ‘Cool

I'm using a SNES type dpad controller.

For NFS III sometimes I use an N64 type analog thumbstick controller for more subtle movement, but I tried it on TD6 and it didn't make a difference, it registered it as digital because it may not be analog compatible.
...

I just did a test to see if there's a difference between the keyboard and dpad, and there actually is!

https://youtube.com/shorts/KVAs_xPk3dc?feature=share

The dpad turns instantaneously as where the keyboard is gradual.

But even with the dpad, once the car starts to move the wheel tightens up, so the faster you move, the less the wheel turns. Which is a good thing.

But while moving slower, the dpad moving it so instantaneous makes it twitchier.

The difference between keyboard and dpad is also the same with NFS III, but I assumed it was because it thought my dpad controller was analog, thus giving it %100 input per press.

So I'm suprised to see TD6 doing the same thing.

There are positives about both, so I can't say which is better.

Dpad turns a bit faster but can be twitchy.

Keyboard turns a bit slower but smoother.

Guess it's just preference so either way is allowed.

Glad I tried it out, I'll have to try some runs with the keyboard just to change things up :)

Thanks! Yeah, whenever you get to it it's fine. I drive with the keyboard, so I can't make any claims on what times are possible here per se, but I do know from about 10 years ago, a guy got 2:28 with upgrades (average speed of 180). On speedrun, me and someone else got 2:32:xy with upgrades. Point is, the minimum without upgrades cannot possibly be 2:32:xy. It's got to be somewhere in between 2:33 - 2:40.
