Star Trek First Contact is an LCD handheld game by Micro Games of America. It was released in 1996 and is a tie-in for the film of the same name.
This is a very simple and uninteresting game. The Enterprise can occupy three positions at the bottom of the screen and shoots at Borg cubes above. Borg cubes move around above you and if any end up next to you, you lose one of three lives. There are two skill levels, GI and GII. GII is harder and faster.
I couldn't find much to be enthusiastic about with this game. The Borg patterns did not really seem to make any obvious sense, so keeping alive seemed more of a game of chance than skill. I am sure there is something to discover, but it just isn't interesting enough to persevere with.
This run was made using Itizso’s RetroFab project. This can be found on itch.io and the simulation runs in your browser. This excellent site not only emulates the game, but the game unit, box and instructions are also available to see. Here is the link:
