Alien Break-In is an intense arcade fixed shooter for the BBC Micro. It was released by Romik in 1983 and was written by Clive Webster.
This is an action-shooter that fills the screen with aliens and objects to shoot. The motherships are indestructible, but the other members of the alien fleet can be shot, as can the pods and bombs. Bombs that are dropped will make holes in the ground if not stopped. The pods will split into two flying creatures if shot, which join the main attack waves flying crazily around the screen. A pod which lands will release a creature that heads off to one of the sides of the screen. If you are in its way, it will kill you, but you can defeat it by making your own hole in the defences. If one of the flying craft spots a hole and heads for it, it will create another indestructible mothership.
This is a mad little shooter. There isn't much variety, but there does not need to be. After a while the screen really fills up with motherships and the action is insane. Good fun for a while, and one I think that shooter fans will enjoy.
