Hyperblast! is a 1983 shoot-em-up released for the Atari 8-bit home micros (400/800/XL/XE series). Released by English Software, it was programmed by John Brierley.
This run was made using the Anstream retrogaming streaming service. Yes, it works well enough to work fine with twitch shooters like this! The date of the run was 2nd May 2021 and the final score was 9,240.
The game reminds me a lot of arcade classics games like Galaga, Moon Cresta and Phoenix as well as The Ultra on the Oric 1. There are ten types of aliens and this run made it as far as type eight. Serious fire button mashing is needed for best results, but if you need a rest you can kill the aliens with your shots while they are still attached to your ship!
Time stamps:
00:20 Game type selection - I chose single player and Difficulty 1 (Easy).

02:33 First life lost.
03:12 Wave 2 destroyed, jump to Wave 3.
04:58 Wave 3 destroyed, jump to Wave 4.
05:18 Second life lost.
06:02 Third life lost.
06:23 Wave 4 destroyed, jump to Wave 5.
