Dodgy capacitor somewhere perhaps. I'll have to keep an eye on it. It only did it once in the run, but could be a sign of trouble ahead.

Hang-On being played on a real machine, following retrieval from storage.

This was more of an experiment than a proper high-score run, but the results were ok. The video was recorded using my phone, so the sound is a bit quiet. This machine has not been started for many, many years. I checked the output from the power supply first with a multimeter.

This is my original Master System from 1986, complete with the supplied game, Hang-On, on card. I can't believe they are still working! This is a UK machine so is running at 50FPS. An easy way to check this is the sound is slower than the NTSC version.

This playthrough was just to test the hardware and the use of a phone as a camera. This was my first play for a couple of decades, so it took me a while to get into the "zone". There's a blip where the screen screws up for a second or so at 10:19, not sure if that is the machine or the television, but it really threw me as I was concentrating on whether the machine was about to catch fire rather than concentrating on my driving. I crash a few times after that.

Still, not too shabby for a first run after so many years (for both man and machine!).
