In order to celebrate 40 years of the ZX Spectrum, in April 2022 I will be playing mainly ZX Spectrum games - and if I can put up with it, only ZX Spectrum games from 1982!
Galaxians was released in 1982 by Artic Computing. As an early game for the Spectrum, running on the 16K machine, it isn't too bad an effort. It's certainly quite playable, although a little jerky and with noticeable slowdown. It was generally well-regarded in magazine reviews at the time and I can see why.
The game was written by William Wray.
This run was made on the 16th April 2022. The emulator is EightyOne. The game was played at Skill level 1 and the final score was 18,180 points. This is a game from the UK so the correct frame rate is 50fps.
