And interesting. I haven't played the GameBoy version but I like the Genesis, Snes, and GameGear ports, as well as the actual arcade, so I can only speak for those.
Certain bosses need things shot in a certain order. Like the 1st boss, first he needs his arms blown off, then his head, then his lower treads where the missiles come out. If it's not done in that order he never dies and keeps taking your quarters. But it's easy to figure that out on Genesis because there's a smoking animation on what's actually causing damage, the 8 bits might not have that for indication.
Good to know about the farmed score with shooting endless enemy missiles, agree that high point games may need a video because of that.

I reached a boss fight and it seemed unbeatable. I unloaded all my missiles and continued firing slow shots when my rapid fire ran out. The thing would never die. I was able to keep alive by killing all of the missiles coming at me, but this was amounting to nothing but a leeching exploitation so I suicided and tried on my next life with a new supply of missiles, but no luck so I let it kill me and quit.
I would recommend that we should require videos for bigger scores in this game as they can very likely be a farmed score. There is one point at which you can aim, where the missiles come from, and simply hold the fire button down indefinitely, earning points by destroying the missiles.
