No but it was the first time I had played in a while.

I bought this game a year ago and was playing it alot then. That was before I was recording my plays. I plan on recording the other variations eventually as well. :)

Such a classic.

It’s your choice how to get to the next level. To end the solar system, you can either go to all of the planets in a solar system and take out all their turrets or just invade the enemy base and take out the core.

I just re read your comment. You said for the Tourney you aren't blowing up bases? What do you mean by bases? Don't you have to blow up all the enemy cannon stuff to progress to the next stage?

It's both a shield and tractor beam. Necessary for going after turrets that are going crazy.

Are you sure your not mixing it up with the Asteroids shield? I'm gonna have to try. As far as I knew, holding down the fuel pick up beams doesn't blow you up but rather sucks more fuel away. So I only use it briefly to grab the purple fuel cells. Without it I'd run out of gas. I had no idea it could also be used as a shield. If that's true, game changer!

Shield? I didn't realize that was a shield. You press down to pick up fuel. The beams that come out when you press down is what grabs the fuel tanks.

Nice job! It doesn't look like you're using the shield - pull down to activate, but don't leave it on too long. We're playing this on AtariAge again for the High Score Challenge tourney, with the rule that you can't blow up the bases.

(Game 5 is easier mode, gravity turned off - 25 lives) - still a nice challenge
