Invaders was released by Artic Computing in 1982. It is a very early Spectrum game and runs on the 16K machine. It was programmed by William J Wray who produced a few early decent shooters for the ZX81 and ZX Spectrum.

The game features 9 difficulty levels and 4 game variations as follows:
1. Normal Invaders.
2. Bombs from various angles.
3. Mutant Invaders.
4. Combination of 2 and 3.

This adds some nice variety to the game. Overall, it is a good version of Invaders, especially considering it's year of release and how new the ZX Spectrum was at the time.

This run was made on the 16th July 2023. The emulator is Pantheon, running on PC. The difficulty level selected was 1 (easiest) and the variation was 1 (normal Invaders). The final score was 2,500 points.
