The original arcade game features four direction buttons (for your gun direction) and a fire button. Today, this would be considered a minigame in another game, it is that simple in gameplay, but it was a novel attraction at the time.

Space Zap is a conversion of the arcade game from Midway of the same name. The arcade game was released in 1980, and this Atom version was by Gert Groenewold in 1983. It is probably a homebrew or user group product and not a commercial release.
Space Zap is a reaction game where you have to shoot incoming spacecraft that approach from the cardinal points of the compass. You have lasers which fire in the same direction. If a craft reached the centre it is game over. A simple game that increases in speed over time, but the orbiting satellite section is missing.
The emulator used is Pantheon. The date of play was the 6th April 2024 and the score achieved was 113 points. There are no user adjustable skill levels.
