General Rules:

Difficulty switches can be in any position at any time.
No use of trainers, cheats, saved game files, auto-fire (when not default present in-game), emulator save states, or other emulator advantages. No use of code modifications that give the player an advantage over other players. No continues.
It is discouraged and may lead to voters not accepting your score to:
- excessively point farm
- use glitches or other game exploits

Specific Rules:

Select "Standard" from the main screen:
∙ Start with 4 ships
∙ Normal speed
∙ Normal amount of enemies
∙ Rockets launch only on later stages
∙ Enemy ships do not fire missiles
∙ Meteors move in manageable patterns

Left difficulty switch is player's choice, and can therefore be in any position at any time:
A/Expert: 1 missile & 1 bomb fired per button push
B/Novice: 3 missiles & 2 bombs fired per button push

Right difficulty switch enables or disables the star field background, and can be in any position at any time:
A/Expert: No star field background
B/Novice: Star field background present

Color/BW switch toggles pause.
✅ Pausing is ALLOWED.
