Awass is a platform game from Inufuto released for the Oric in January 2026. The program was written by Inufuto as part of a multiplatform project that uses a common format for producing the games and a machine specific interpreter/library for making the main program run on that specific machine.

In Awass you have to collect all the flags that are distrubuted over a selection of levels and ladders. Flashing flags are worth a bonus, so try to get them first. Your opponents are a number of ghosts who are deadly to the touch. A key mechanic of the game is the ability to move platforms left and right using the fire button. You'll need to do this to line up the ladders to exactly where you need them. It's the only way to access some of the levels. There is also a time limit, so you can't afford to dally either.

Another variation of Inufuto's platform game style, with the new mechanic of sliding levels to line up the ladders. It reminds me a little of games like the arcade game Check Man or the Oric game Quack-A-Jack which also have sliding line mechanics. Awass is a simple game at heart, but an engaging one and fun to play.

This run was made on the 28th February 2026 using the Oricutron emulator on PC. There are no adjustable skill levels and the final score was 2,350.
