Seems tricky to get past that middle part. Will need to give this a try myself, mate. Anyway, yes!!

Alien Dropout is a fixed shooter game for the BBC Micro by Superior Software. It was written by Richard Hanson and released in 1982, making this quite an early release. The game is based on the Konami arcade game Astro Invader.
Killer Moths are attacking the Earth. Your mission is to destroy them. A large moth in the centre of the screen is indestructible, for now. To either side of it, five boxes per side fill up with smaller moths. If any of the boxes fills up, the next moth in pushes one out of the bottom which will fly down and attack you. If it reaches the ground, it will explode, killing you if you are too close. Once two hundred moths have been shot, the large moth flies down to attack you - kill it and you move on to the next level.
Although this game is nicely programmed, I found it a bit lacking in gameplay at the lower skill levels. You spend most of your time blasting the small moths in their boxes and this can get pretty tedious initially. Eventually, as the levels progress, the boxes fill up faster and more of them escape out the bottom making the game more interesting. Graphics and sound are nice, especially for the time of release and the aliens do change design as you go up the levels. All in all, though, I found playing it for long a little bit of a chore at Level 1. Fortunately, there are six levels of play for you to match your skills to and the higher levels are no joke, believe me!
