Attack on Kixi is a Galaxian-style arcade game for the Oric 48K. It was produced in 1984 by G. Morgan Software. There is some documentation giving the author as S. Graschwitz, but I have not been able to confirm this. I have also never seen a box inlay for this title.

I don't know much about this game or software house. I believe they were from South Wales, but that's all I have got! By Oric standards, this is a decent little game of Galaxian. The machine was not blessed with a large number of good shooters, so you took what you could get. I never knew this game at the time, but it is one of the better ones. It is a standard fixed shooter and you have to destroy waves of enemy fleets formed above you. Individuals peel away from the formation from time to time and these are both fast and deadly. They do score more points though, with the more rewards coming from shooting them when they are close to you. Destroy them all and you hyperspace to the next screen where the creatures have a slightly different design.

The graphics in this game are smooth and quick by Oric standards. Some attention to detail has been put into this as well, as the enemy does not erase the background when it passes over it - you notice this when they pass in front of the moon in the sky. A trick not often seen on the Oric in 1984. It's colourful and noisy too. It's tricky at times - those enemies can be fast! For a pre-1985 Oric arcade game, this is a neat program which deserved to be better known.

This game was played using an Oric Atmos 48K emulated in Oricutron. The date of play was the 12th April 2026, there are no skill levels and the final score was 11,300 points.
