Transversion is an arcade game for the Oric 48K. It is based on the 1983 game by Christian Urquhart and Nick Pierpoint for the ZX Spectrum, which was released by Ocean. The Oric version was a project created in 2025 by Rax of RaxIss.

In this game, you must collect all the eggs laid out on the grid. You can't shoot, you just have to run over them. Your opponents are the alien defenders that patrol the edge of the grid. These will fire at you when you are in their line of sight, so you must keep moving and changing direction to stay alive. It sounds simple, but it isn't easy to collect all the eggs and stay alive!

This is a faithful version of the Spectrum classic. The graphics and sound work well, and the game even features some speech! Gameplay is hectic, but the controls respond quickly which is absolutely crucial in a game like this. However, the game instantly restarts if you are holding a movement key at game over. A dedicated start key would fix this issue. Very nice to see an unported Ocean classic finally arrive on the Oric.

This game was played using an Oric Atmos 48K emulated in Oricutron. The date of play was the 28th June 2026. There are no skill levels and the final score was 214 points.
