General Rules: Play with default settings unless otherwise specified. If the ROM set is not mentioned, play the parent ROM. No use of trainers, cheats, saved game files, emulator save states or other emulator advantages.
No use of code modifications that give the player an advantage over other players. 1 player only. No continues.
In-game/internal autofire is only allowed if a game has it (enabled through hard or soft DIPs). External/MAME/cheat-based autofire is not allowed.
It is discouraged and may lead to voters not accepting your score to
- excessively point farm
- use glitches or other game exploits

You can use any emulator you want (Retropie, rain, neo geo, Coinops, Antstream, handhelds,...). If specific emulators or versions are restricted, it will be mentioned in the Specific rules.

For Top 3 we encourage (but NOT mandatory) to provide:
a) A full video with DIP Switches to be shown in the video (at the start or at the end of your performance). If DIP Switches are not available, Service Menu should be used instead (at the start of your performance). If no difficulty settings is available on your game, you still have to show either DIP switches or service mode showing this (if not mentioned in the specific rules).
OR
b) An INP file. Please state your MAME version in the comments. And add an URL where the voter can download your .inp. (We currently have no way to store those files on the server, but it is on the roadmap).
For INPs:
o We encourage to also show the DIPs during your video play.
o Delete NVRAM before recording/viewing. Many arcade games that MAME emulates save some information (like high scores) in non-volatile ram (NVRAM), which by default MAME saves in the nvram subfolder. For some games (not all) the RNG is affected by NVRAM, so an .inp file recorded with non-empty nvram won't replay correctly on anyone else's system.
o To record INP file, you require Wolfmame: You can download it here : https://github.com/mahlemiut/wolfmame/releases (or on MARP).
o Record one run gameplay when using INP.
Specific Rules: Play the game in 1 player mode with default settings

Settings check out just fine FYI. Here are the relevant INP lines of a recording I just made for this game in v.106 with Normal difficulty settings (default) and Allow Continues=No (not default but inconsequential and it is also the standard setting when submitting to TG). Then there are the same lines in Rodrigo's INP.

DSW2: offset 0x37 (the thirty-seventh byte), repeat every 0x7C (every 124 bytes), typical value 0xB9

My INP:
Line 03 - 00 00 00 FF 00 00 00 B9 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
Line 0B - 00 00 00 B9 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
Line 12 - 00 00 00 FF 00 00 00 FF 00 00 00 FF 00 00 00 B9

Rodrigo's INP (identical):
Line 03 - 00 00 00 FF 00 00 00 B9 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
Line 0B - 00 00 00 B9 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
Line 12 - 00 00 00 FF 00 00 00 FF 00 00 00 FF 00 00 00 B9

Also for prudence sake here is the relevant INP lines for true default settings (which include Allow Continues=Yes):
Line 03 - 00 00 00 FF 00 00 00 BD 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
Line 0B - 00 00 00 BD 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
Line 12 - 00 00 00 FF 00 00 00 FF 00 00 00 FF 00 00 00 BD

Notice the BD instead of the B9. Easy difficulty (with continues allowed) produces a B5 value. Hard difficulty produces an AD value. Hardest difficulty produces an A5 value. You can basically check settings on INPs by looking at these three INP lines and comparing them to INPs you record at various settings. It's a bit clumsy and time consuming but it's easy. Carry on :)

Found the INP in the TG INP Archive. Uploaded here https://gofile.io/d/8AvZhB

I will see about getting an analysis to check settings.

I cannot see that this score was verified over at MARP - there is no record of it there - and none of your scores are available at Twin Galaxies as you had all your scores stripped there.

1. i have to say, you're right on many points. That's not a good idea to ask to re play a game with a newer version of emulator because :
- If so it means that all performances will have to be done again one day....
- it's endless.
- it's unuseful for now.
2. is there a rule about version of emulator ? answer is no. And also, on my own performance, i never show the emulator version on video.
So it mean free version is allowed (for now, but rules can evolve with time).
3. The rule "Play the game in 1 player mode with default settings" is automatic rule from the website. But admin should add more informations about the game. (i guess it's not made yet but later...it need time to do.)
3. For inp, i continue to think that's not a 100% trustable checking (because of the versions and the difficulty to make the checking) and because inp can be cheated (i don't say it's not good, this is great to record them each time... i just think it's not enough), so the video is a better way to see how is it.
4. I think we need a guide to explain how to replay inp, and how to check it.
5. So on my side, i checked the dip switches of the game :
Difficulty are Easy / Normal / Hard and Hardest and also 1/2/3/5 lives at start. There's also Service Mode (but it looks same as dip switches with memory test and others tests....) Default settings are Normal and 3 lives.
- For lives : 3 [default] = 1 with the in game character and 2 lives in the icon player. so it's all good on your video.
- For difficulty : i made few tests. Unfortunately i didn't find difference between easy and normal. number of enemies look same, life bar of enemies looks same. (but i just play 1st stage....)
So with those informations, i can't say something is wrong on your video. And if i don't find any issue on it, that's mean i should vote yes.

So thanks for you answers, i appreciate the open talk. If you or someone else have more informations about the differences between difficulties, feel free to explain to players and voters, then we will make the best and easiest way on approval performance.
I will keep in mind this topic was interesting to discuss because it make a better view of arcade platform games to me. I learn a lot of things :)
I hope you don't think i'm too serious or / and bad mind, i just wanna try to make the better vote process i can.

Man, gold score or silver score, bronze, 4th, 5th is not the point, the point is, the record is real!
No problem, i won't play 1000 games again because I need to use a new version, this is wrong, I don't know who set that rules but it is incredible wrong. inp is a inp, is a replay archive with the data inside, and you don't care if the video is legit, you just want be done in new version of emulator, and this will be done when someone try a record done today! My records already done, have inp, have video and all them will be submitted, and you may free to vote no, that is your choise.

The inp are available to the public, if you use the inp you will watch exactly the video above, and also I am follow rules: "1 player mode with default settings".

The real "adjudicator" he watch the video, but most peoples just see if the screenshot matchs with the record submitted and vote yes! Just it.

All my MAME records done with WM0,106 are autentic and all the inps will be available if the adjudicator find some suspicious, wrong, cheated, etc...

My view is the emulator software evolved a lot in many years. On the other side, old emulators shouldn't be used now and i think some rules should be explained about it (because they are old and inaccuracy....)
Maybe in 10 years all my scores will become obsolete because the version what i used isn't approved... for me, that's the deal with emulation. And i will have to make them again...
Because, it's a gold score, because no dip switches view and because the inp can't be checked, i can't vote yes on this performance.
I understand your view. i don't know MARP or Twin Galaxies, they do some good job maybe but they are not me. (and i don't trust those websites)
So it's a no for me.

Unfortunatelly I won't play any record again because needs a most recent MAME emulator, my records already done with WolfMAME 0,106 along these 15 years, When I start to submit NEW records from today (2021) I can do it using the most recent MAME released. For now, a large bunch of records will be submitted using 0,106, all the inps will be available to the public in each submission page and also the full bunch of inp available in lounge. My MAME records are 100% legit and already verified by MARP and Twin Galaxies.

thanks for the inp. But i see you played with wolfmame version 0.106. is it right ?
0106 version = May 2006 : https://www.mamedev.org/?m=200605
If so, it will make complicated to make the checking on 0.106 because this is a very old version...
For more informations, you can read this : https://www.twingalaxies.com/bensweeneyonbass/wall/4207/mame-inp-verification-guide
Recommandation is to not use 0.106 but at leat a 0.153+ version with the inp view.
So because it's a gold performance, the verifications need to be deeper, so that's make things harder than expected for me.
So could you make again this performance with a newer mame version ? thanks

could you link the inp file for a better checking please ? thank you
@Siliconian 🇧🇷
Well I wanted to test your theory on the settings. I have the game up and I changed from Normal to Easy in the Dip Switches and I still start the run with 3 Lives.

Like I said the video you submitted is you playing the game. But what in your submission tells us the voter that this game was played on default settings? INP File? I just recorded this game in a INP File and nothing in the video shows what settings it is on.

Now I'm not trying to be toxic. I'm just trying to get people to take a simple screen shoot of your dip switches with the final score..and post that with your video evidence. Now could you argue with someone that posted those two types of evidence?

I cancelled my vote for you bc I can see my logic doesnt agree with you

Sorry, I not agree with you, I'd like to know what you saw suspicious this is not a default settings? More lives or enemies being defeated easy? I can let available for you or anyone all my + 1000 inps for "inp analysis" and to check if this records and the future submissions are being played without or following the rules!

FYI, when someone play without "default settings", the variation descryption have modifications for more lives or difficulty, this is called "Tournament Settings" or "Marathon Settings". In my record on 64th Street is easily visible the 3 lives and normal enemies (default settings).

Like i told, If this is not enough, I let my inp available for "inp analysis" and confirm the settings!
Specific Rules: Play the game in 1 player mode with default settings = 👎👎👎

Gotta show them Dip Switches brother.

Your Run is legit but the settings can not be proven. There are three modes easy normal and hard. Dip Switch visual will prove which setting you are on. Default is Normal
