Play the game in 1 player mode with default settings : Stage 0-1 @ start with 4 lives and a timer of 100 seconds. ** EXTRA INFORMATIONS ** - At each end of stage, you will receive bonus points from the time remaining. - At end of each 4 stages, you will unlock next "world". From the time remaining, you can earn extra lives only (no extra points). - This Game is compatible with Super Game Boy (it adds colors). But this is not a GB Color game. - This game has an GamePak' battery-backed internal memory. But if you save and take your save later, the score is reset to 0, so it's not an abused feature on scoring. - Sometimes, this game is also called "Donkey Kong '94". |

As I believe you get a better time bonus for doing the levels quickly, but yes, like in many games, you can farm points by losing lives on purpose. I'm not chocked by this.

To be honest, the "score" in this game seems pointless. You are rewarded for dying because you keep your score and get to do the level again. It's probably a better suited game to speedrun each level or world.

Yeah it only really got tricky at around World 8. Even then not overly challenging to be honest. But yes it was one hell of a slog, I don't know how I kept going all the way. I just kept telling myself I was past the point of no return and the end must be coming soon. World 8-15 took me absolutely forever, as did the final boss battle to some extent. It's such a shame my video-recording doesn't seem to like 7+ hour videos as the sound went out of sync I have noticed. Well not much I can do about it now :D

It went up to 9-8. Then after beating that there is the "secret" final boss stage of 9-9 which was totally different where DK is behind you trying to hit you. It was very tricky, I had collected up to about 70 lives, and finished the game with only 3

The final score shows up before the final boss but is never visible afterwards. Approx 7:02:00 in the video
