Centipede is a version of the arcade game for the Jupiter Ace with at least 16K of expansion. It was written by Colin Dooley and released by Boldfield Computing in 1984.

No surprises that this game is based on the arcade game of the same name. It lacks a lot of the enemies - only the Centipede and flea are present, but it is still a fast and challenging game. On a machine that was starved of decent games, this is one that makes a stand in the camp labelled 'good'.

Written in machine code, it is one of a few games that show that the Ace was not a complete nothing of a machine. It also used the Sound Box add-on for improved sound, created by Essex Micro Electronics. This was a hardware add-on that added an AY-3-8910 to the system. It was only used by a few games as the Ace was very much a niche machine by the time it arrived. As well as this game, Sam and the Time Bombs also used it.

This run was made using the Pantheon Emulator. The date of play was the 9th December 2023 and the score reached was 8,796 points.
