Aerial is a Commodore PET arcade game released in May 2023 by Inufuto. Also available on almost any 8-bit platform you can think of due to Inufuto's cross-platform project, this is a Scramble-type game.
Your aircraft flies over a landscape defended by anti-aircraft emplacements and enemy fighters. At the end of each level one or more airships serve as end of level bosses. If you defeat these, then you move to the next stage, each one increasing in difficulty. Occasionally, missiles appear and sometimes will give you a 1UP icon when shot. Collect these for an extra life.
The PET does not allow users to create their own graphics, instead you are restricted to the large, but limited, built in character set. This is the case here as well, but the author has done a pretty good job of creating believable shapes with the limited palette available. Gameplay is similar to the other 8-bit versions, though a little more limited by the PET's capabilities. Sound is also missing in this version.
This run was made on the 18th December 2024 using the VICE emulator on PC (the title card saying Pantheon is in error). There are no adjustable skill levels. The score achieved was 34,600 points.
