Thanks! I had a ton of practice on my Atari 5200. Thats where I gained most of my skill and technique. I also have Super Qix in Taito Lengends for Xbox.
I once got to play the original arcade machine, when Disney Quest arcade was in Chicago. They had a floor of classic games.
Today i read Qix is over at Galloping Ghosts arcade less than an hour from me. I look forward to getting there sometime.

Seemed like the wall sparks move pretty quick from the beginning, and the QIX itself is silent.

The NES version isn't bad at all, but a different experience for sure.
