Rules
General Rules: Difficulty switches can be in any position at any time.
No use of trainers, cheats, saved game files, auto-fire (when not default present in-game), emulator save states, or other emulator advantages. No use of code modifications that give the player an advantage over other players. No continues.
It is discouraged and may lead to voters not accepting your score to:
- excessively point farm
- use glitches or other game exploits
Specific Rules:
From the options menu*:
∙ Fx: ANY setting
∙ Speed: ANY setting
∙ Rhythm: ANY setting
∙ Envelope: ANY setting
∙ Select the "Lead 1K" version
∙ Enemies are worth 1 point each
* Option screen available on 8K and 16K version ROMs

Left difficulty switch was intended to function as a smart bomb safety function to prevent inadvertent smart bomb activation, however, it does not seem to have any effect, and can therefore be in any position at any time.

Right difficulty switch setting has no effect in this title, and can therefore be in any position at any time.
