Rules
General Rules: Left difficulty switch setting must remain in the A/Expert position throughout gameplay.
Right difficulty switch setting may be in any position at any time.
Must be played on a real 2600-compatible console or expansion module. Play with default settings unless otherwise specified. No code modifications that give the player an advantage over other players. No continues. No use of trainers, cheats, auto-fire (when not default present in-game) , game saves, or cheat codes. Can be overruled by the Specific Rules.
It is discouraged and may lead to voters not accepting your score to:
- excessively point farm
- use glitches or other game exploits

Game 4:
∙ Fast speed
∙ Extra life every 10,000
∙ Hyperspace

Left difficulty switch setting must remain in the position indicated by the leaderboard category.
A/Expert: UFOs
B/Novice: No UFOs

Right difficulty switch setting has no effect in a one-player variation, and can therefore be in any position at any time.

There is a rare glitch that awards a player between 4,000 and 6,000 points for striking a single object. There is no known way to cause this glitch intentionally.
✅ Scores achieved that include this glitch are ALLOWED.

Two versions of Asteroids were released. One version with the copyright screen intro, and one without.
✅ Player may use either version.
