Aquaventure was an unreleased Atari VCS game. The reason why it was not released are not known as it appears to be finished. It was eventually released on several retro consoles and software packages - such as Atari Vault, which is being used to play it here.

The aim of the game is to dive down into caves to collect the treasure. Contact with any sea creatures or the walls will kill you. Running out of air will also kill you, so some of the deeper treasures will need to be avoided - they are just oo difficult to get without dying. You are armed with a harpoon gun with which to kill the sea creatures, but be warned - they are quickly replaced with a much faster moving version! Retun to the surface (with or without the treasure and a mermaid (I think) will lift you from the water - then you can try again.

Quite fun this one. Gameplay (like most Atari VCS games) is simple, but there is enough going on to keep it challenging and entertaining.

This run was played on PC using the Stella emulator. The date of play was the 31st December 2022. The game has no variations and does not use the difficulty switches. The score reached was 167,375.
